London

Our Study Holiday Programmes allow students to explore the stories hidden amongst the buildings and streets of London, taking their learning experience out of the classroom and into the heart of the city. Whether visiting iconic museums such as the National Gallery and the British Museum, popular markets such as Portobello or Covent Garden, or roaming through parks and shops by day and famous pubs and theatres by night, London’s leisure activities will enthral your students with the excitement of modern London life.

Samuel Johnson’s words, written more than two hundred years ago still capture the essence of this multicultural megalopolis today. A city full of people and ideas, and always on the top step of the podium in the fields of culture, fashion, economy and science.

Let your students explore and absorb everything London has to offer; let them learn how London deserves to be learned.

By seeing London, I have seen as much of life as the world can show.
Samuel Johnson

English writer and poet

Our locations

The British International School has carefully set up partnerships with excellent English schools in London, with whom we work closely to provide a complete and professional study holiday experience.

All our schools are accredited by the British Council and have been chosen primarily for their excellence in teaching quality, with highly qualified and experienced teachers. The warm and friendly atmosphere in class, with a small number of students and teachers attentive to the individual needs of their learners, make them the ideal schools for English study.

In addition, all schools are conveniently located near to the accommodation provided as well as enjoying good public transport links with the rest of the city.

At the end of the stay, students will receive a certificate of attendance which certifies the English language level achieved.

We have a lot more services

Our accommodation

  • Our Host Families
  • Our Hotels
  • Our Residence & Hostels
  • Our Campuses

Staying with a host family is the best way to integrate into British culture and practice English outside of school. All families are of a good social and cultural background and are constantly monitored by our staff, or by those of our partner companies, in order to guarantee high standards for our students and allow them to live in a different environment, but always a friendly and warm one. The students will be staying in double rooms with a shared bathroom, the tour leaders in single rooms with either shared or en-suite bathrooms. The accommodation can be booked with either half or full board, depending on the students’ choices. Free Wi-Fi and weekly laundry are also included.

Our host families are located in the bustling areas of Ealing and Acton in West London. The homes are primarily in quiet residential locations, well connected to public transport not far from the school in Ealing and only 20 minutes, by tube, to central London.

Our London hotels are located between West London (zone 3) and Central London (zone 1), making travel to the locally selected schools very convenient. They have all been recently built or renovated and provide up-to-date facilities. The students will have a triple or quadruple room and the tour leaders will have a single room, all with en-suite bathrooms. The hotel offers Wi-Fi connection, a buffet breakfast and common lounge areas. They are all just a few minutes’ walk from the underground station.

The BIS is in partnership with select residences, located in various parts of London; Hayes, Stockwell and Greenwich, and are available all year round.

The Staycity Serviced Apartments are the closest to the BIS offices, located in Hayes, zone 5. They are very well connected with both the schools and the city centre. The apartments are much larger than standard hotel rooms and come with modern and comfortable furniture. They are provided with four beds, a wardrobe, desk, kitchen, bathroom, common room, sheets and television. The residence also has free Wi-Fi, a laundrette, a large common area and restaurants. They are only a few steps away from Hayes & Harlington railway station, getting you to Ealing in 6 minutes and to Paddington station in 15 minutes.

The residence in Stockwell offers good standard en-suite rooms which are fully equipped and furnished. It offers free Wi-Fi, communal kitchens and sitting areas as well as a health and leisure club with a swimming pool and gym. It is located in zone 2, just 15 minutes to central London’s biggest tourist attractions and the nearest tube station is Stockwell (Victoria and Northern lines).

The hostel in Greenwich is brand new and located in the heart of Manor Park, a few minutes from Hither Green underground station, getting you to London Bridge in just 25 minutes by train. There are multiple en-suite rooms available for students (between 4 to 6 in each room) and single en-suite rooms for the teachers. There are meal facilities available on site and there is the added option of holding English classes on site too.

Our campus accommodation at the ‘Queen Mary University of London’ is located in East London (zone 2) and is available only in summer. The campus is only a 15-minute walk from Tower Bridge and just 15 minutes away from central London from the nearest tube station Mile End (Central line, District line and Hammersmith and City line). It provides sports halls, common rooms, local parks and a cafeteria with fresh food. Every student gets a single en-suite room and all meals and English lessons will be held on the campus site.
