Herald Square - ALCC - School Of English

English courses accredited by the CEA (Commission on English Language Accreditation) and available all year around. Our partner school, located in the heart of Manhattan, will provide a stimulating environment for the students to learn English and to discover the city that never sleeps. Facilities include a computer room with free Wi-Fi access, a library and a cafeteria. To guarantee quality education, there is a highly qualified teaching staff present and ready to guide the students on their journey to acquiring English linguistic skills.

The school is easily accessible by public transport (Underground, Trains and Buses).

Students can select to stay with host families or at hotels.

Manhattan College

Manhattan College, only available during the summer, offers students a green and safe campus within the boundaries of New York city. It is conveniently located right next to a subway stop that gives easy access to this amazing city and is only a 35 minute ride away from Times Square.

In the city that never sleeps, students will be able to have a taste of what a real American college is like. Our partner school in New York, accredited by Accet and English USA, organizes English Courses for International students, with access to all the facilities the college has to offer; classrooms, library, common areas etc.

The accommodation is on site and this campus provides full board accommodation with suite-style, air-conditioned apartments.

LSI New York

This partner school is located in a beautiful and historic building in the district of Lower Manhattan. We can offer the students fully equipped classrooms, a computer room, free Wi-Fi and a student lounge where students are able to relax after a long day of studying.

Programmes offered in New York

Tour Experience

The New York tour experience (school trip) – available all year around and for a minimum of 8 days, includes visits and excursions to the main touristic places in the city such as The Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island, The Empire State Building Observatory, The National History Museum, Central Park etc. A selection of educational activities such as Theatre workshops or Business Etiquette, is also offered as part of the programme.

Throughout the group’s stay, the students are accompanied and supported by BIS assistants.

Traditional programme with General English Course

This programme, available all year around, allows students to follow traditional English courses accredited by the CEA (an examination board equivalent to England’s British Council) and delivered by native American speakers.

English learning continues after the lessons through visits and excursions to iconic New York tourist attractions, museums and buildings.

Half board or full board accommodation in host families, hotels or campus can be provided.

Our host families are located just outside Manhattan and provide half board accommodation. Students must be 16 years old or over.

Two hotels are available in New York. The first is the “Holiday Inn Express”, near Times Square, whilst the second is the “Pennsylvania” near Madison Square Garden. Both are located close to the subway. Students will stay in quadruple rooms and teachers in single rooms. Both types of rooms provide en-suite bathrooms. The hotels also each have a restaurant and common areas. The “Pennsylvania” hotel boasts further of a gym.

The campus is situated within Manhattan College. The apartments are made up of 2 bedrooms with 2 or 3 beds and a bathroom. They are well equipped with beds, desks, bedside tables and storage space for clothes. Bed linen is provided as well as air-conditioning, with free wifi and laundry facilities.

Full board with 3 meals a day is provided.
