The British International School welcomes students to study the English language through various programmes. These programmes are designed to immerse the students in a different culture while learning English and discovering the rich history of the cities.

School trips
During the school year we offer school trips, usually 4 – 5 days, which give the opportunity of visiting the most relevant artistic and cultural attractions of the city.
Students can enjoy activities such as theatre workshops and Business Etiquette, along with a wide range of guided tours, giving these experiences considerable didactic value.

CLIL Experience
The BIS CLIL Experience programme offers students the opportunity to take classes on school subjects such as art, history, science, literature and theatre, in an actual museum or art gallery. This allows them to have access to the very artefacts and objects they are studying, which results in a much more interactive and stimulating way of learning.
Students will be able to gain both experience and knowledge of their chosen subject through the insightful guidance of qualified native English teachers.

IGCSE / A Level Course
Our IGCSE and A Level programmes represent a valid alternative to General English Courses, as they allow the improvement of language skills through the teaching of school subjects in English.
Lessons will focus on subjects of your choice and will aim at preparing for Cambridge IGCSE or ALevel exams through Anglo-Saxon teaching methods, the administration and correction of previous exams.
Lessons will be held by qualified mother-tongue tutors, graduates and specialists in teaching the chosen subjects and with proven experience in preparing students for IGCSE or A Level exams.

Traditional Programme with General English Courses
This programme allows students to follow traditional English lessons, given by native English speakers, in fully equipped classrooms. During lessons, we use interactive activities and role play to improve the students’ communication skills.

Theatre Experience
Led by a professional theatre actor, students will be immersed in the world of theatre. They will be learning various skills such as; studying scripts, voice training, movement control, transmission of emotions, gesturing and rhythm.
This programme can be adapted according to age and school background and students are able to choose from a variety of theatrical subjects including Shakespearian Theatre, Harry Potter, The Lion King and Sherlock Holmes.
At the end of the course students will perform a scene from their chosen play.
